Pakistan to execute Indian spy

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa has approved death sentence of Indian RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav handed over by Pakistan Military’s Field General Court Martial on Monday.

Kulbhushan Jadhav aka Hussein Mubarak Patel was arrested last year and was charged over his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities in Karachi city and Balochistan province with the intent to destabilize the country internally — more specifically, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) considered a Game Changer for Pakistan.

During the trial Jadhav was provided with a defending officer as per international legal provisions. He confessed before the court that he was a retired Indian naval officer and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent. He was tasked by RAW to plan, coordinate and organize subversive activities in Karachi (Pakistan’s financial capital) and Balochistan – gateway to the CPEC. Listen to his confession below.

Jadhav in his confession admitted that he used his business in Iran as a front to make contacts with Baloch rebels operating along Pakistan-Iran border.

In 1973, Indian citizen Kashmir Singh was arrested and sentenced to death. He spent 35 years in prison in Pakistan. Throughout his incarceration, he insisted he was not a spy. Singh was pardoned by then president Gen. Pervez Musharraf and returned to India where he was given a hero’s welcome.

I was a spy and did my duty. I went to serve the country. Even Pakistan authorities failed to get this information from me,” Singh told Indian news reporters as soon as he crossed Pak-India border.

The prominent Indian spy had to be Ravindra Kaushik, an actor recruited by RAW who entered Pakistan as a student under the name Nabi Ahmad Shakir. He studied at Karachi University and joined Pakistan Army. He reached the rank of Major before his cover was blown by a fellow RAW spy under investigation.

Pakistan had hanged only one convicted Indian spy Sheikh Shamim in 1999.

Pakistan re-introduced death penalty in the aftermath of a Peshawar school massacre by RAW-Mossad-CIA agents in December 2014 which resulted the death of 137 students and six staff members.

Incidentally, the 6-year-old Jewish Noah Pozner who was one of the 20 children at Sandy Hook Elementary School allegedly were shot to death by Adam Lanza on Dec. 14, 2012, was also among the victims of terrorism at Peshawar school (here).

In reaction to Pakistan’s announcement, New Delhi warned Islamabad on Monday that any move to execute the Indian national would be “premeditated murder.”

Pakistan’s defense minister Khawaja Asif responded in an TV interview: “If India takes the matter up internationally Pakistan will defend its decision. Kulbhushan’s sentence is a warning for anyone with anti-Pakistan sentiment. The justice system will come down on people working to sabotage Pakistan with full force.”

One response to “Pakistan to execute Indian spy

  1. I am a Pakistani and strongly believe that India is meddling in our affairs but this interview seems to be scripted and didn’t quite pass the smell test.
