Hizbullah: ‘UN is weak to stand-up to US and Israel’

On Saturday, Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah slammed United Nations as weak after the removal of its recent report accusing the Zionist entity of imposing an apartheid regime on Palestinians.

The report was co-authored by two American academics, Dr. Richard Falk (Jew) and Dr. Virginia Tilley for the United Nation Under-Secretary General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Dr. Rima Khalaf who resigned (watch a video below) on Friday after the UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres asked her to remove the report, published by ESCWAestablishing Israel as an Apartheid regime from the internet.

The Zionist regime likened the report to Der Sturmer – a  weekly tabloid-format newspaper founded by Julius Streicher in 1923. After the rise of Hitler in 1934 – the paper accused Jews of conspiring with Bolshevik in trying to established a Communist rule in Germany.

Julius Streicher’s fears did come true after WWII when Soviet Russia established its Communist satellite state in East Germany which existed until 1989. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was born in East Germany in 1954 and was a member of Communist Party.

Dr. Khalaf in her letter of resignation to Antonio Guterres wrote: “In the space of two months you have instructed me to withdraw two reports produced by ESCWA, not due to any fault found in the reports and probably not because you disagreed with their content, but due to the political pressure by member states who gravely violate the rights of the people of the region.”

Nasrallah said in a televised speech that the incident served as a reminder of the “truth of this organization, that it’s weak – and it succumbs to the will of the United States and Israel“.

The UN is incapable of taking a stand and the debacle over the report proved it cannot be counted on to defend human rights in our region,” he said.

Dr. Hanan Mikhail Ashrawi, a Palestinian Authority lawmaker and founder of Jerusalem-based MIFTAH human rights advocacy group, also criticized the decision and called on the report to be reinstated.

Sheikh Nasrallah also talked about Netanyahu’s desperate appeal to Putin during their March 9 meeting in Moscow to stop war on ISIL as its defeat would increase Iranian influence in the region. He said that the defeat of the ISIL Takfiri group in Syria would be tantamount to the fall of Netanyahu himself.

I have repeatedly called on Syria militants not to put trust in the West and implement their plots in Syria, because the US and its allies are only using them as cannon fodder and will abandon them as soon as they are defeated. I tell them they’re only serving Israel, and shedding the blood of innocent people,” Nasrallah said.

In 2001, the UN conference on racism (Durban I) had declared the Zionist entity as new kind of apartheid, a crime against humanity – but pressure from the US, EU, and Russia stopped United Nations to condemn Gen. Arial Sharon’s neoNazi regime. FM Shimon Peres boasted organized Jewry power by saying: “This is the first time that the opposition to the Arab proposal includes not only the United States but also the 15 EU nations, which adopted a formal decision to oppose, all the Eastern European nations, which in the past would generally vote with the Arab side; Canada, Russia, the Latin American states, India, Japan and Singapore.” He expressed his gratitude to the 43 states that opposed the one-sided decision of the Arab League and OIC.

  1. Reblogged this on | truthaholics and commented.

  2. Under the headline “UN Agency Head’s Forced Resignation”, Stephen Lendman has published the Executive Summary of the UN ESCWA Report, which firmly establishes the Apartheid nature of Israel’s reign over Palestinians. Please read the Summary careful, and at length, the Zionist lawmaking in order to prevent any social or economic progress among Palestinians whatsoever is absolutely impressing, an exhibition in “strangling by law” which probably surpasses even what was done in the Third Reich.

  3. In Aljazeera, March 19, professor Mark LeVine provides a link to the complete UN ESCWA Report in an article under headline “As Israel moves towards confronting apartheid, the questions raised by the report will become impossible to avoid”. A most impressing document, indeed! Should be studied by anyone interested in the Palestinian problem.

  4. The new secretary general clearly shows no backbone .I expected better from him .I guess the world will just have to get on with it and expose the Israelis for who they are .BDS until they are they are the last ones standing.
Kudos for Dr.Khalaf for resisting the blackmail being imposed on her and standing for her principled report.
