American columnist and author Chris Hedges in a recent interview with Abby Martin of TeleSUR’s The Empire Files said that Evangelical Christians are a bigger threat to the Americans than the Alt-Right movement under Donald Trump administration (listen the interview below).
Hedges said that while President Trump’s personal life makes a mockery of the very values the Christian evangelist claims to hold sacred, the Trump administration can be expected to further the ideals of political evangelists.
If this Christianized fascism continues to gain momentum, what would that look like? Hedges explains:
“It’s going to be the fusion of the American flag with the Christian cross and the Pledge of Allegiance. We’ve already seen it. It’s going to be assaults on women and women’s rights. It’s going to be assaults against the educational system, where we’re teaching creationism and magical thinking. It’s going to be attacks against those forces of secular humanism that are destroying the country. It’s going to be a sanctification of law and order and imperial adventurism into kind of a crusade. And I think that as society unravels, they will stoke this demonization of the other: Muslims, undocumented workers, African Americans are on the list,” said Hedges.
Chris Hedges in his 2007 book, American Fascists: The Christian Right and the war on America, quoted professor James Luther Adams, telling his students that when they reach age 80, they would be fighting the Christian Fascists (here).
One doesn’t need a PhD to realize that both groups are huge supporters of the Zionist entity and Muslim-haters even though they, like Muslims, don’t embrace many Jewish values such as abortion and gay marriages.
In 2010, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, Founder and President of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews claimed that Evangelic leaders donated US$100 million to Israel in that year alone.
What these Evangelic leaders don’t tell their tens of millions sheep that their love for Jews is because both White Christians and Jews have common history of genocides (Americana, Australia, New Zealand, India, Palestine, WWI and WWII, etc.) and African slavery.
