On Saturday, Iranian weightlifter Kianoush Rostami, 25, won Gold Medal at Rio 2016 Olympics in men’s 85-kilogram category with a world record after lifting a total of 396 kilograms (watch video below).
Rostami beat his own world record set in May 2016 by one kilogram and beat Tian Tao of China, who snatched the Silver Medal with a total lift of 395 kilograms.
Rostami won a Bronze medal at the London 2012 Summer Olympics, and the 2015 International Weightlifting Federation’s World Weightlifting Championships in Houston, USA.
Rostami’s medal is Iran’s sixth weightlifting gold in Olympics.
