Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Dzhemilev Kirimoglu, who visited Canada last month urged prime minister Justin Trudeau’s government to impose sanctions against Russia which has annexed Crimea, saying: “If western countries decide to re-establish relationships with Russia and become friends again, it’s disaster for the entire Crimean Tatar people.
Kirimoglu, the legendary Tatar leader, repeatedly jailed for political dissent in the former Soviet Union, urged the Liberal government on Wednesday to live up to its promises and pass legislation to punish Russians defying human rights.
Dzhemilev encouraged the Liberal government to create a new international platform to discuss peace in Ukraine because the existing Minsk II agreement – brokered by Ukraine, Russia, France, and Germany – made no reference to Crimea and is therefore flawed.
Dzhemilev claimed that 10,000 Crimean Tatars had left their homeland since it was annexed by Russia in February 2014.
I must say Mustafa Dzhemilev who is member of Ukraine parliament is barking on a wrong tree. Why Canadian government give a hoot to Tatar Muslims under Russian or Ukrainian occupation when it supports Jewish colonization of Muslim Palestine? Canada has a lousy abusive record on country’s Aboriginal people.
In February 2016, thousands of Tatars living in Turkey protested in front of Russian embassy in Ankara and consulate in Istanbul on the second anniversary of annexation of Crimea by Russians for the second time.
Namik Kemal Bayar, secretary general of World Crimean Congress said that Crimean Tatars are suffering from a second exile (Sürgün), as many of them are now forced to leave the country.
Slogans during the protests included Putin the murderer, get out of the Crimea, Russian Murderers Leave Our Country and Crimea belongs to Crimean Tatars.
The Tatars, a largely Sunni Muslim ethnic group, have faced increasing persecution since Moscow’s annexation of Crimea in the spring of 2014. Both Amnesty International and most recently a spokesman for the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights criticized their treatment at the hands of government officials.
On March 20, 2014, Zionist mouthpiece, Foreign Policy magazine posted an article entitled: “Sorry Turkey: You’re Not Getting Crimea Back“, even though Turkish president Erdogan had not put claim on Crimea. J. Dana Stuster, a Zionist moron was referring to July 1774 Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca between the Ottoman and Czarist Russia which stated that if ever Crimean people decided to establish an independent state – it would automatically transferred to Ottoman Empire. Naturally, since the Ottoman empire ceased to exist after WWI, the said treaty became redundant.
Last month, Muslim Crimean Tatar singer Jamala won the 61st Eurovision Song Contest for Ukraine. She was awarded the People’s Artist of Ukraine title. Her song, 1944, on the deportation of Muslim Crimean Tatars under Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, won the Eurovision contest at a time when Crimean Tatars claim to be facing similar repression from Russia.
