On Monday, Pope Francis did something horrible. He received former Grand Mufti of Egypt and current Chancellor of Middle East oldest learning institution, Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb with symbolic hug and exchange of kisses.
Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said in a statement that the pope and the Sheikh during the 30-minute meeting had mainly addressed the common challenges faced by the authorities and faithful of the major religions of the world.
At the meeting, the pope presented the Sheikh with a copy of his recent encyclical, Laudato Si’, a letter to the faithful in which he urges the world to wake up to the threat posed by climate change and also calls for a rebalancing of the economic relationship between the industrialised and developing worlds.
I wonder why the kosher pope didn’t present the Sheikh with a copy of his 2010 book, On Heaven and Earth, which he co-authored with Argentine Zionist rabbi Abraham Skorka?
Sheikh Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb, appointed by former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak, is considered a “moderate” Sunni cleric by the Zionist-controlled western leaders. Ahmed al-Tayeb, a typical sectarian Salafi cleric supports Saudi ‘royals’ while condemn Iranian Shi’ite regime for extending its influence over Sunni world of Islam. In 2013, he slammed then president Ahmadinejad for denying Holocaust.
The appointment of Grand Mufti of Egypt and Chancellor of Al-Azhar had been done by the president of the country since 1960s. Both are “stamp positions” to legalize government agenda.
In 2014, Ahmed al-Tayeb condemned Al-Azhar professor Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Karima (Sunni from Azerbaijan) for delivering a lecture at a Shi’ite Seminary in Iran.
In May 2015, anti-Islam-Muslim immigration France’s National Front party leader Marrine Le Pen met Ahmed al-Tayeb in Cairo. Last year Marrine, in order to please French Jewish Lobby (CRIF) expelled her father and founder of National Front for saying that “Holocaust never happened.” Marrine’s boyfriend Louis Aliot is Jewish. Ahmed al-Tayeb told that Al-Azhar and the Sunni world condemn her and National Front anti-Islam stand.
Though Iran’s current “moderate” president Hassan Rouhani visited the pope in January this year during his historic visit to Italy – Iran’s Supreme Leader and former president of the Islamic Republic Ayatullah Ali Khamenei had refused to visit the Vatican due to latter’s anti-Islam stand. Former Iranian president Dr. Ahmadinejad refused to meet Pope Benedict XVI, aka ‘Zionist double agent’.
Al-Azhar University was established by Shi’ite Fatimid rulers of Egypt in 998 CE.
