On Sunday, Benjamin Netanyahu brought his entire cabinet to the Golan Heights for a ‘photo-ops’ to start his new Hasbara (propaganda) campaign against Syria after losing his 20-year Jewish Crusade against Iran.
The ‘photo ops’ (below) shows how Jewish women discriminated in Israel. All female cabinet ministers are made to stand behind the male ministers.
The self-claimed representative of 13 million Jews around the world, Netanyahu declared: “Golan Heights was occupied by Syria for 19 years. Jews liberated it 50 years ago. Now it’s time for the international community to acknowledge that the Golan Heights will permanently remain under Israel’s sovereignty.”
I was not surprised by Netanyahu’s latest rant. He has long declared himself an undisputed authority on Jewish history. Last year, Netanyahu told the world that Hitler didn’t want to kill Jews – it’s Mufti of Palestine who twisted Hitler’s arms to kill 6 million Jews.
On October 12, 2012 Shimon Shiffer reported at Israeli daily Y Net that Netanyahu offered to handover Golan Heights to Bashar al-Assad in return for his promise to distance himself from Iran. The secret negotiations were held by Dennis B. Ross, Obama’s then special assistant for Middle East, Michael Herzog, a former chief of staff to Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak, and Frederic C. Hof, former US State Department official with Syrian foreign ministry officials.
On March 28, 2013, Aluf Benn reports in “Assad’s Israeli friend” for Ha’aretz that Damascus and Jerusalem were “very close” to an agreement in early 2011, which would have had Israel withdrawing from the Golan Heights in exchange for full peace and Syrian disengagement from Iran.
However, the US-Israel trap failed as Bashar al-Assad refused to cancel his ties with Iran, Hizbullah or Palestinian resistance groups.
Israel’s top financial and military backers, the US ($3 trillion), and Germany ($93 billion) strongly criticized Netanyahu’s claim on the Golan Heights. The US State Department spokesperson reaffirmed that these territories are not part of the Zionist entity. German Foreign Ministry spokesman bluntly rejected Netanyahu’s unilateral annexation statement. He reminded Israel that it is a basic principle of international law and of the UN Charter that no state can claim the right to annex another state’s territory just like that.
On April 21, 2016, Gershom Gorenberg wrote at Jewish website, The American Prospect: “On Israeli maps the Golan is simply part of Israel, unilaterally annexed for all practical purposes nearly 35 years ago. On the rest of the world’s maps it is Israeli-occupied Syrian territory.”
NJ-based Genie Energy whose major shareholders include oligarchs like Jacob Rothschild, Rupert Murdoch and Dick Cheney had major oil/gas discovery in Golan Heights.
Two American Jews, Anat Levi and Victor Schoenfeld controls Israel’s top alcohol producer, the Golan Heights Winery.
With the failure of US-Israel created bloodshed in Syria to install an anti-Iran regime in Damascus – Netanyahu’s latest rant is meant to blackmail Vladimir Putin. On Thursday, Netanyahu met Putin in Moscow and told his host that Golan Heights is a “Red Line” for Israel, and must remain part of Israel.
Historically, Golan Heights had always been part of Syria. It was part of Byzantine province of Syria when it was liberated by Muslim Arab army in 636.
