On January 16, the so-called P5+1 negotiating team chief Federica Mogherini announced in Vienna that sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program are lifted after IAEA’s confirmation of Iran’s commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Mogherini read out the statement in English, which was subsequently read out by Iranian foreign minister Dr. Javad Zarif in Persian.
Mogherini said: “As Iran has fulfilled its JCPOA commitments today, multilateral and national economic and financial sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear program are lifted accordingly.”
Iran’s president Sheikh Hassan Rouhani responded the announcement by hailing the Iranian nation in a tweet for the Glorious victory (personally, I have doubts about that).
“Implementing #JCPOA not a detriment to any country. Our friends are happy and our rivals need not worry. We are no threat to any nation/state,” Rouhani tweeted.
A White House spokesperson said that Barack Obama signed an executive order for the removal of US ‘Crippling’ sanctions against the Islamic Republic. However, immediately afterward, the Secretary of Treasury Jacob Lew (Zionist Jew) put eleven new sanctions against Iranian companies and individuals over Iran’s recent ballistic test, which were proposed by the Jewish Lobby.
Netanyahu’s reaction to the announcement was predictable. He repeated the same warning to the western nations that he had been parroting since the 1990s: Iran intends to produce a nuclear bomb by next year.
Many world leaders and politicians including UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon, and foreign ministers John Kerry (US), Philip Hammond (UK), Jewish Laurent Fabius (France), Frank-Walter Steimeier (Germany), and AIPAC darling Sen. Hillary Clinton lauded the announcement.
Zionist media, as usual, fired a new smoking gun against the lifting of sanctions on Iran. “Iran just got a $100 billion windfall, and would be earning another $2 billion/month by flooding the oil market while lowering the price to $25 a barrel,” predicted Jewish website Zero Hedge. Now, I’m lost. Is Iranian government like America’s so brainwashed it doesn’t realize that by selling crude oil as low as $25 per barrel – it will never make a profit. And as far as the $100 billion “windfall” is concerned – that’s Iran’s own money frozen in Western banks for the past 30 years. Just challenge Obama to withhold $3 billion annual military aid to Israel for just one year!
Personally, I tends to agree with Paul Craig Roberts, Stephen Lendman, and even with Joe Biden that America’s problem with Iran has nothing to do with Iran’s nuclear program. It’s all about Islamic regime’s independent policies. Therefore, Washington will never stop bullying Iran until it succeed installing a Zionist-controlled regime in Tehran.
