On December 3, 2015, The London School of Economics (LSE) published an article, entitled, Delegitimizing through Dehumanization: Palestinian ‘human’ rights denied. The article was written by Dr. Sandra Nasr, professor of political science at Catholic University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, Western Australia. She is author of books, Israel’s Other Terrorism Challenge and Contemporary State Terrorism: Theory and Practice (here).
The article, was removed within 24-hour of its publication after the UK’s powerful Jewish groups led by the Jewish Chronicle blasted the LSE.
UK’s Board of Jewish Deputies president Jonathan Arkush condemned the blog calling it ‘antisemitic’, and called on LSE to delete it. He said: “This piece is contemptible and I have written to LSE demanding its removal forthwith.”
Another Israel lobby group, the Community Security Trust (CST) said Dr Nasr had given a “false and offensive caricature of Jewish law and religious beliefs“.
“Zionism, the ideological project to secure a Jewish homeland, relies upon notions of separateness, superiority and entitlement. It finds its origins in the ‘promise’ believed to have been made by God to “His people” – Abraham and his descendants, the Israelites. According to this belief, they were to take the land by force, kill anyone who resisted, and take for slaves those who did not fight back (except in more distant towns which should just be cleansed. Biblical Theologian Professor Michael Prior called this ‘ethnic cleansing’, where God’s Covenant with the Israelites “was integrally linked with the mandate to exterminate the indigenous peoples,” Dr. Nasr said.
In January 2015, Lianne Mizrachi, president of LSE Jewish Society had complained to LSE president Craig Calhoun over Aitemad Muhanna-Matar, a research fellow at LSE’s Middle East Centre, speech in which he praised Palestinian resistance groups and compared them with Jews fighting Nazis.
Last week, LSE Jewish Society cried WOLF over a banner displayed at an exhibition organized by LSE Student Union Palestine Society. The banner glorify Palestinian whom the Zionist regime accused of stabbing innocent Jews.
Now compare Dr. Nasr’s claim with GOP front runner, billionaire Donald Trump, who told members of Republican Jewish Coalition yesterday, that they like Shylock, wouldn’t support him because he refuses to take his campaign money from them. But, it’s okay, because Trump has Jewish family.
In 2013, Jerusalem-based Jewish NGO Monitor attacked Dr. Nasr for attending Human Rights In Palestine Conference sponsored by Australian National University and British Academy. Three of the other speakers, Dr. Richard Falk, Jeff Halper, and Dr. Sarah Roy are all Jewish academics. Christian academic, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi also spoke at the conference.
Interestingly, British veteran journalist and author, Alan Hart, has documented similar views in his book, Zionism: The Real Enemy Of The Jews. Alan Hart, had interviewed Israeli prime minister Golda Meir, PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Finkelstein, Dr. IIan Pappe, Rev. Stephen Robert Sizer, etc.
