On Tuesday, in a meeting with heads of three branches of power and senior state and military officials, the Supreme Leader Ayatullah Ali Khamenei rejected Washington’s new redlines for lifting the ‘crippling sanctions’ against the Islamic Republic which were proposed by Benjamin Netanyahu in 2009.
The new ‘redlines’ call for a 10-year ban on Iran’s nuclear program to be verified by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is infested with Israeli spies.
Israel has been caught spying on meetings between the so-called P5+1 and Iran in Geneva. Netanyahu released this information to US Jewish Lobby to build a case against any US-Iran nuclear deal.
“The Americans are seeking to destroy Iran’s nuclear industry and on the opposite side everyone in Iran, including myself, the government, the parliament, the judiciary, the security and military bodies and all other bodies, support a good agreement, that is a fair, just and honorable deal in line with Iran’s interests,” the Supreme Leader said.
“We do not accept long-term 10 to 12 years restrictions and we have told them the acceptable number of years for limitations. They say that we shouldn’t do anything in the 12-year period, but this a doubly wrong and bullying word,” said Khamenei.
Khamenei underlined that Iran would never accept a deal at any price, saying, “We are seeking to remove the sanctions, but we see them as an opportunity from a different angle because they have caused us to pay more attention to domestic forces and capacities.”
Obama’s words and actions are enough to prove that his administration is not sincere in having a deal which is good for both the US, Iran and the region. Iran gave away a lot of its legal rights as a signatory of NPT in the interim deal. Giving away any further rights to satisfy US-Israel, would turn Iranian public against president Rouhani government.
“A successful deal would allow Iran to become a very successful regional power that was also abiding by international norms and international rules. And that would be good for everybody,” Obama said in December 2014.
However, at the same time, Washington kept funding and training rebel groups fighting Iran’s regional allies (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and Gaza) via Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and UAE. Washington has boosted its $3 billion military aid to Israel as result of Netanyahu’s whining.
The warmongering agenda of Netanyahu and his Jewish lobby allies against Iran has nothing to do with latter’s possession of a nuclear bomb (both the US and Israeli intelligence agencies have come to the conclusion that they have no proof that Iran is pursuing to develop a nuclear weapon) – as Israel itself has 240-400 nuclear bombs – and is backed-up by the US, France and Britain which are sitting on stockpile of over 11,000 nuclear weapons. Israel wants an American war, on Iran. Netanyahu knows that more ‘redlines’ would force Iran to walk away from the negotiations and Washington will have an excuse to attack Iran.
