India: No Christmas holiday

India-Flag-64[1]Jesus is junk. It is high time for Hindus to learn that Jesus Christ symbolizes no spiritual power, or moral uprightness. He is no more than an artifice for legitimizing wanton imperialist aggression. The aggressors have found him to be highly profitable so far. By the same token, Hindus should know that Jesus means nothing but mischief for their country and culture,” RSS, Voice of India, 1994.

On December 2, India’s prime minister Nirendra Modi announced that in future Christmas Day (December 25) would not be a national holiday anymore. All government offices and education institutions will remain open that day to honor the birthday of former Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (December 25, 1924), which happens to fall on the same day. Modi has renamed Christmas Day as Good Governance Day in honor of Vajpayee, leader of anti-Muslim Hindu racist party RSS, like Narendra Modi. RSS leaders, both Vajpayee and Bal Thackeray admired Adolph Hitler for his Aryan purity policy.

The Hindutva-led Modi government had objection about birthdays being celebrated of Congress leaders like Jawahar Lal Nehru. Now they want to celebrate their own birthdays. They do not have a problem with celebration of birthdays, they have a problem why their leaders birthdays are not celebrated!

There have been multiple campaigns and voices towards promoting India as a Hindu country – where BJP, RSS and Hindu Maha Sabha are the owners of Hinduism. The “Ramzade vs Haramzade” remark, the “Go to Pakistan” remark, the conversion debate of “Ghar Wapsi” and many other moves are surrogates of intentions to convert India into a Hindu country.

In India’s neighboring anti-Israel Pakistan, December 25 has always been a national holiday for both Muslim (88%) and Christian (10%) communities. Pakistan government, army and the entire nation celebrate the birthday of the Father of Nation, Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Christians celebrate the birth of their Lord Christ.

On January 14, 2015, India United Against Fascism, posted an article, entitled Why Narendra Modi Stole Christmas.

Christmas Day had been a public holiday throughout the history of independent India , so what changed in 2014? Obviously, the fact that it was the first Christmas with Modi in power as PM. Modi has from childhood been a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which, along with its large number of affiliated organisations including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is popularly known as the ‘Sangh Parivar’ (‘Sangh family’). Its ideology of Hindu nationalism or ‘Hindutva’ has been from its early days closely related to European fascism,” said the article.

A series of so-called ‘ghar wapsi’ (‘back to home’) ceremonies conducted by the Sangh Parivar and aimed at converting Muslims and Christians to Hinduism received a great deal of publicity.

Rajeshwar Singh of the Dharm Jagran Manch said: “We have so far ensured reconversion of 300,000 Muslims and Christians back to Hinduism. By 2021, we will finish Islam and Christianity.
