“It is the Zionist lobby that is prodding the US to help the dictatorship regimes in Muslim world because Israelis fear nothing more than another Shia Hizbullah like force developing in those countries,” said John Kaminski, American writer and blogger on January 5, 2010.
In a televised speech on May 25, marking the 14th anniversary of the Resistance and Liberation Day, Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah warned the West that Hizbullah will never allow Syria to become a second Israel or a neo-colonialist outpost in the region to protect the Zionist entity.
“The 2000 withdrawal of Israeli army and its Christian collaborators was the final nail in the coffin of the Zionist ideology of recreating Eretz Yisrael in the Middle East. Israel erects security walls and fences, but that wouldn’t protect it during the next military confrontation because the Resistance has the means to strike anywhere in the Zionist entity,” said Nasrallah.
Nasrallah emphasized that Hizbullah fighters are fighting the anti-government rebels not to protect Bashar Assad regime, but to make sure that no pro-Israel regime change succeed in Syria.
“If there had not been military resistance to the Israeli occupation of south Lebanon in the late 1970s, the Zionists would have established Jewish settlements there as they did in British mandate Palestine in the past ahead of the creation of Israel. For this reason, our continuous military resistance is crucial,” said Nasrallah.
Referring to the so-called “Arab Spring”, a brainchild of US State Department and several Jewish lobby groups – Nasrallah said the West and its colonial puppets want to further divide Syria, Iraq, Libya, Tunisia, Lebanon, Somalia, Sudan and other Muslim nation states to weaken Muslim resistance against the Zionist entity.
Nasrallah said that finally the Zionist evil scheme of Eretz Yisrael (Greater Israel) has been put to stop in Syria.
Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah’s speech was widely reported by Israeli newspapers with translation provided by Israeli Hasbara Memri. Daily Ha’aretz, The Jerusalem Post and Israel National News posted Nasrallah’s speech on front page.
Hizbullah began as a social and cultural organization to look after the interests of Shia community in a Christian-Sunni dominated country, later it turned into an armed resistance against the Jewish occupation army and its Lebanese Christian (Phalangist) collaborators. After more than 18-year armed resistance, it forced the Jewish army to withdraw from south Lebanon in 2000 with exception of Shebaa Farms. Since then, Hizbullah has attracted volunteers from many religious and political groups in Lebanon. After inflicting a humiliating military defeat on Israeli army in 2006, Hizbullah received praise from people around the world including Christians and Jews, such as Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, Iranian president Ahmadinejad, Mother Agnes, Jewish academic and author Norman Finkelstein, Jewish author Gilad Atzmon, Lebanese president Michael Suleiman, etc. Lebanon’s icon singer, Julia Boutros (Christian) is a great admirer of Hizbullah.
