Australian ex-PM: Israel is a “dangerous ally”

Malcolm Fraser, 84, former Australian prime minister (1975-83) in his recently published book ‘Dangerous Allies’, has claimed that Israeli attack on USS Liberty in June 1967 was “deliberate”. Fraser’s mother Una Woolf had Jewish family roots.

Fraser defended his accusations during an interview he gave to 774 ABC Radio Melbourne broadcaster Jonathan Eric Faine on last Friday. Jon Faine is a Zionist Jew who has been defending Israeli crimes in his career. Watch a video below to see how Faine got paranoid in 2010 when he faced a 9/11 truther.

Israel years ago, during one of the wars, killed 30 or 40 Americans on a spy ship in the western Mediterranean,” Fraser told Jon Faine.

The Americans tried to cover it up. It was not a mistake. It was deliberate.”

Fraser also said that Australian Jewish minority wielded too much political power in the country. “The Jewish community seeks to get Australia to support policies as defined by Israel,” he said.

Earlier this year, former Australian foreign minister Robert John (Bob) Carr (born 1947) in book ‘Diary of a Foreign Minister‘ had claimed that Australia’s foreign policy is  controlled by pro-Israel Jewish lobby groups.

Mark Leibler, chairman Australia-Israel and Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) slammed Fraser and call allegations against Israel and Australian Jewish community “conspiracy theory”.

To make these allegations about Israel deliberately targeting Americans when there’s no evidence to support it, when successive inquiries by both the Americans and the Israelis have demonstrated that this was an accident, I just think it is appalling beyond description,” he said.

The US Defense Secretary Robert McNamara under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s instruction ordered the Sixth Fleet to abort the rescue mission. Lt. Commander David Lewis of the Liberty told colleagues that Admiral L. R. Geis, commander of the Sixth Fleet carrier force, told him that when he challenged McNamara’s order to recall the rescue mission, LBJ came on the line and said he didn’t care if the ship sank; he wasn’t going to embarrass an ally.

The US government’s official position on the USS Liberty corresponds with Israel’s: The attack was unintentional and a result of Israeli blunders. This is the official position despite the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms, Secretary of State Dean Rusk, Assistant Secretary of State Lucius Battle, and a long list of US Navy officers, government officials and Liberty survivors are on record saying the Israeli attack was intentional.

In 2012, Alan Hart, British veteran reporter and author, posted the real story of Israel’s deliberate attack on USS Liberty on June 8, 1967. “The lesson of this cold-blooded, murderous attack was that there is nothing the Zionist state might not do, to its friends as well as its enemies, in order to get its own way,” said Hart.
