Ben White on ‘Israeli Apartheid’

On March 21, 2014, British journalist and author Ben White launched second edition of his 2009 book, ‘Israeli Apartheid: A Beginner’s Guide’ at a well attended function at London Amnesty International office. The event was chaired by David Hearst, former chief foreign leading writer at British daily Guardian.

Israeli embassy in London and the British Jewish Lobby ran a campaign against the launching of the book.

Ben White has been praised by Bishop Desmond Tutu, Ilan Pappe PhD, Max Blumenthal and Ali Abunimah, to name a few. However, Paul Eisen, Ben White’s fellow member at the ‘Jewish Witnesses for Peace and Friends’ questions Ben White’s sincerity to the Palestinian cause.

In the past, Ben White has been blamed ‘antisemite’ by the Jewish lobby groups like ADL, AJC, etc. for criticizing the Zionist entity even though in a June 2002 article published in CounterPunch, Ben White claimed that equating the Zionist regime with Nazi regime is “unwise and unsound”, because Israeli Jews have not killed six million non-Jewish Palestinians. Anthony Lawson, on the other hand, in a December 2013 article proved that Israeli actions are even worse than Nazi crimes.

Ben White is not anti-Israel. He, like Jimmy Carter, never questioned the occupation of Palestine by foreign Jewish terrorists. He only dislikes the apartheid policies of the Zionist regimes. “It’s not “the Israeli-Palestinian conflict” but a struggle of a colonised people for return, for freedom from systematic discrimination, for the end of apartheid,” says Ben White.

Ben White, however, supports the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which, too, doesn’t question the existence of Israel on land stolen from Palestinians. Last month, Benjamin Netanyahu compared BDS with a new Jewish Holocaust.

Not long ago, Ben White, Max Blumenthal and three other members of the Jewish Witnesses for Peace and Friends signed an online document, entitled “Not Quite ‘Ordinary Human Beings’ – Anti-imperialism and Anti-humanist rhetoric of Gilad Atzmon“. It was s part of larger Zionist campaign to silence and marginalize Gilad Atzmon for authoring the book, The Wandering Who: A study of Jewish Identity Politics‘. Read my review of the book here.

On February 28, 2014, British Ceasefire Magazine, published Ben White’s interview with Sara Chaudhry which can be read here. You can read Ben White’s personal blog here. Listen to Ben White talking about ‘Israeli Apartheid’ on a video below.

What are you talking about? I don’t even really know who Ben White is and I’ve certainly never said anything about him.
