Israel: “Women shalt not read Torah at Wailing Wall”

202[1]

Thanks you G-d for not making me a Gentile, Woman or a Slave,” Shabbath 86a-86b. All Jewish men are obligated to say this prayer each day.

According to Torah (Bavli Megilah 23a) a Jewish woman is not obligated to study Torah therefore, they’re not allowed to recite Torah in public because of kevod tzibbur (in redspect to the divine message and congregation).

I have touched on this subject, when it was reported that Israeli police arrested four Jewish women for reading Jewish Bible (OT) in front of the phony Holy Wailing Wall in defiance to Israeli law. The Wailing Wall (aka Western Wall), which in fact the foundation wall of an ancient Roman fortress and not the Temple of Solomon. An Israeli group known as the ‘Women of Wall’ has been protesting against Israel’s gender racism in the Jewish holy area for over a year now. See the photo at the top of this post.

In December 2012, fearing the deligitimation of Israel as the so-called “Jewish state” among the Diaspora Jews, Benjamin Netanyahu asked Natan Sharansky, the chairman of Jewish agency, to study the religious issue and suggest ways to make the site more accommodating to both genders.

On Tuesday, the protest for women rights at the Wailing Wall was joined by three Jewish female lawmakers, MK Stav Shafir (Labor), MK Tamar Zandberg (Meretz) and MK Michal Rozin (Meretz), which provided legal protection to protesters and for the first time no arrest was made by the Jewish security police.

On Monday over 100 pro-Israel Jewish protesters gathered in front of Israeli embassy in Washington in support of women’s right to pray at the Wailing Wall.

We’re not protesting against Israel – we’re all supporters of Israel. What we’re fighting for, is the rights of Israelis to celebrate Judaism in a pluralistic way. It’s not a protest, it’s a show of solidarity with a specific group of people in Israel,” said Judith Gelman, organizer of the event.

Orthodox Jewish groups have posted billboard signs in Jerusalem calling for the Jewish residents to SAVE the Wall from desecration by women seeking to read Torah in front of it.

  1. Like I’ve always said, the modern (late 1960’s) women’s movement was largely Jewish for a reason.

What kills me is that the “truthers” think Makow is all that, when his solution to the male-female issue (based mostly on his many failed relationships that he takes no responsibility for) is to go back to the Torah. The same material (like the Talmud) that started the problem in the first place.

I have on my blog a book link to “Jesus was a Feminist” by Leonard Swidler, which shows how Jesus was in favor of the sovereign rights of the individual, whether male or female, and how he encouraged women to educate themselves, treating them like humans in an age where they were seen as little more than chattel. St. Paul’s famous prayer starting “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female” is a complete repudiation of the Jewish morning prayer. It’s no wonder Jesus was seen as a threat to the “old world order” which is now known as the NWO. I wish more people would read the book.

    • Yes, the American and Canadian feminist movements are mostly lead by Jewish women, some of whom happened to be former communists on CIA payroll.

In case you’re talking about Henry Makow PhD, he is Canadian Jewish academic who was an active Zionist and even lived in kibbutz in Israel.

Jesus was not a feminist – nor was St. Paul. Both never got married.

  2. Sorry we disagree on that. You have to read the book. This

No one knows if Jesus was in fact married

I am not sure why you think being a feminist has something to do with being married.

    • Nothing to be sorry about my friend. I respect other people’s beliefs as long as they’re not against what is said in the religious scriptures.

Jesus (as) is quoted in Matthew 5:28, as saying: “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart”. Which shows that he was not feminist – because most women like to be adored by the opposite sex even outside marriage.

Holy Qur’an says that neither Jesus (as) or his mother Saint Mary ever married – and that’s enough proof for me. I don’t need some other source to teach me otherwise.

  3. “According to Torah (Bavli Megilah 23a) …”

TALMUD, dear… TALMUD. Don’t bring us Christians into this.

    🙂

  4. Reblogged this on Muadhamu Sheikh Hemedi Jalala and commented:
